
Below is a guide of when the core HOA coursework is offered for the HOA-MIS and HOA-MBA programs. This is generally when the courses are offered to help you plan accordingly.
HOA-MIS Dual Program
Fall Term
- HOA 705: Financial Analysis for the Service Industries

Spring Term
- HOA 711: Laws of Inn-keeping and Food Service
- HOA 731: Operational Analysis in Hospitality Management

HOA-MBA Dual Program
Fall Term

HOA Elective Coursework
Students must complete the following number of HOA elective coursework, which can be any HOA 500 or 700 level course outside of the core coursework.
- Thesis Track: 3 hours
- Professional Paper Track: 6 hours
Elective coursework will vary between Fall and Spring terms. The College of Hospitality does not offer a wide range of HOA graduate courses during the summer term as students tend to be on internship. Visit the Graduate College Course Catalog to view all the HOA courses offered.
Additional Coursework Requirements
Students in the the Thesis track must complete 6 credit hours of HOA 789R: Thesis and deposit a master’s thesis.
Students in the Professional Paper track must complete 3 hours of HOA 788R: Professional Paper.
